Then, to make it even worse they aren't even shooting them, they
are poisoning them. Poachers have been setting up traps that have poisoned meat
and once they eat it they are as good as dead. According to this article, the
meat they are using was from an elephant that they killed for bait for these
tigers. So now, not only are tigers being killed, but an elephant was killed
for bait, and then on top of that, several other animals in this wildlife
preserve had eaten the meat and they too died.
Only two of these poachers have been caught and they have been
thrown in jail, but sadly this does not stop the others and they are still out
there. This topic clearly relates to science because of the poisoned meat and
the dying animals, but not so clearly it is also related to math. It is related
to math because the patrol had to figure out how many tigers are dying and how
many are being targeted at once. Seeing how indecent people are to other living
things makes me ache inside, what about you?
